INTRODUCTION

MAA Credit Berhad care about your personal data protection. This notice clarifies how MAA Credit Berhad and on behalf of its related corporations, including without limitation, MAA Group Berhad (collectively “our”, “us” or “we”) processes your data from the point we collect, use, share, dispose of and the security measure that we established to ensure your personal data is well protected.

 

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

We collect your personal data which range from:

• Your details such as name, identity card or passport number, gender, nationality, date of birth, age, race, marital status, address, email or telephone number.
• Your details of employment such as name of your employer, your position, scope of employment or income.
• Details of your referee/guarantor or other personal data that may be required in addition when you deal with us.

 

SOURCE OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION

We gather your personal data from:

• Application form available at our website www.maacredit.com.my .

• Surveys, contests and promotions, social media i.e., Facebook, Instagram and cookies.
• Private agency that provides credit reporting such as CTOS.

 

REASON FOR PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION

We collect your personal data to:

• Offer you the services you have requested or to process any requests, inquiries or any communication from us to you.
• Deliver any documents to your desired address and locations.
• Inform you of any services, offers or promotions that we or our business partners have selected and believe will be of interest to you (only with your consent).
• Verify your financial condition through credit reference/review for reporting or for any audit, legal, compliance and risk assessment purposes.

 

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

We process your personal data in and outside Malaysia and you hereby give your consent to the transfer.

 

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We disclose your personal data to:

• The appointed courier to deliver your documents.
• The authority for legal/regulatory purposes.
• To MAA Group of companies, our related corporations, business partners and service providers.
• To credit reporting agencies, banks, our financial and professional advisors.
• Any such third party requested or authorised by you for any purposes.

 

SECURITY MEASURE

We take these measures to protect your personal data:

• By ensuring your personal data is kept as required by Act 709.
• By ensuring our staffs not to misuse your personal data.
• By performing contract/agreement with system vendor.
• Nevertheless, you must take care of your password and not disclose it to others to avoid data breach.

 

PERSONAL DATA RETENTION PERIOD

We will retain your personal data for seven (7) years or as long as you become our customer. If you are no longer our customer, we will permanently delete your personal data after the retention period above.

 

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

• Correct/update your personal data by downloading the form from our website or call us at 03-62568000.
• Stop any of our new promotional services, offers or promotions to you.
• Access your personal data which we process and keep with us.
